Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery on the state’s South Coast.
About 6.15am yesterday (Sunday 29 April 2018), two men entered a newsagency on Island Point Road in St Georges Basin.
They approached the counter, armed with an axe and a crowbar, and threatened an employee, a 64-year-old woman.
The men stole cash before fleeing the scene and were last seen running on Island Point Road towards a supermarket carpark.
No one was injured.
Officers from South Coast Police District commenced an investigation.
Investigators wish to speak with two men who may be able to assist with their inquiries.
One man has been described as 180cm tall, with a solid build, and was last seen wearing a red jumper, jeans and white face covering.
The second man has been described as 170cm tall, with a thin build, and was last seen wearing light-coloured clothing and a red face covering.
Police urge anyone with information to come forward.
