An investigation is underway after an armed robbery in Sydney’s south-west this morning.

Police were called to licensed premises on Burwood Road, Belmore, just after 4.30am today (Wednesday 2 May 2018), following reports of a robbery.

Officers have been told a man with his face covered and dressed in black; entered the venue and threatened three staff members before demanding cash. He was believed to be armed with a firearm.

One staff member was assaulted during the incident, but did not require medical treatment.

The staff members complied with the demand and the man fled the scene along Acacia Lane towards Campsie Railway Station.

Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command established a crime scene and have commenced investigations.
