Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Mount Waverley last night.

Investigators have been told an unknown man attended the Waverly Road fast food restaurant about 11.30pm on Tuesday 1 May.

The man, who was carrying a weapon, threatened a staff member before taking a sum of cash and fleeing to a waiting vehicle in the car park.

The vehicle, an early model green sedan, was last seen travelling west on Waverley Road.

Police have released an image of a vehicle and man who they believe may be able to assist with their enquiries.

The man was described as Caucasian, approximately 180cm tall with a medium build and pale legs.

He was wearing a black long sleeve hooded jumper, black sunglasses, black shorts with light coloured vertical stripes on the legs, black shoes with pink additions and white trim.

He was also wearing white gloves and his face was covered with black clothing.
