Melbourne Embona Robbery Taskforce detectives are investigating an alleged robbery at a Carlton convenience store last month.

It’s alleged two men entered the Lygon Street shop, forcing their way behind the counter and stole forty packets of cigarettes shortly before 10.30pm on Wednesday 18 April.

The store attendant was allegedly punched in the face by one of the men, sustaining minor injuries.

Investigators have released an image of a man they believe can assist with their enquiries.

He is perceived to be African in appearance, aged in his early-20s, with a thin build and thin moustache.

Police have already charged a 23-year-old Collingwood man with aggravated burglary, robbery and assault.

He was bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on 18 July.
