Police are appealing for public assistance after bandits robbed a convenience store in Niddrie last night.

Police have been told four males with their faces covered entered a convenience store on Keilor Road about 10.30pm.

It is believed two males produced a firearm and an axe before making demands for cigarettes.

Cigarettes and a mobile phone were stolen and the offenders fled the scene.

They were last seen driving away in a dark coloured sedan.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Investigators believe the same offenders attempted to rob a convenience store in Bundoora about 9.30pm and a store in Keilor just before 10pm.

Detectives are keen to speak to any witnesses or anyone in the area at the time.
