Police investigating an armed robbery in Sydney’s west have released CCTV in an appeal for public assistance.

About 2.15pm yesterday (Monday 30 July 2018), a man, armed with a knife, entered a fast food restaurant on Bunting Street, Emerton.

The man jumped the counter and threatened a 23-year-old male employee before stealing cash.

He was last seen running through a reserve near Siemens Crescent.

No one was physically injured.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

Investigators have released an image of a man who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

He has been described as being of Mediterranean/Middle Eastern appearance, about 183cm tall, of a slim build, and with brown hair.

He is depicted in the CCTV footage as wearing a blue beanie, dark-hooded jumper, black pants and white sneakers.
