Mackay detectives have charged a third man in relation to the alleged armed robbery of a Mackay hotel on June 12.

It is alleged that two men entered a Wood Street business around 9pm with one of the men approaching the bar and revealing a firearm inside a bag. A note was handed over and cash demanded.

The pair fled out the Gregory Street entrance with a sum of money. They were seen entering a dark coloured sedan.

Around 3.35pm on July 28 police observed a man hiding in a storm drain behind an address on Tropical Avenue in Andergrove.

The man allegedly fled from officers who pursued on foot.

A cordon of the area was established and a man was arrested on Peter Court a short time later.

A 24-year-old Bucasia man was charged with armed robbery in company and obstruct police and was due to appear in Mackay Magistrates Court today.
