Detectives from Kingston Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public assistance after a man attempted to rob a Clayton South business earlier this month.

Police have been told a man wearing a balaclava entered the business on Graham Road just after 5pm on Tuesday 7 August.

He then approached a staff member and produced a knife before making demands for cash.

The victim advised there was no money in the till and the man fled the scene empty-handed.

No one was injured during the incident.

It is believed the offender ran to a silver Subaru Impreza waiting nearby.

The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, 175cm tall and was wearing a high visibility blue and green long sleeve shirt.

Investigators have released CCTV and images of a man and a vehicle that may be able to assist with their enquiries.
