A man has been arrested after allegedly robbing a Port Augusta hotel yesterday.

Police will allege that about 10.40pm on Monday 10 September, a man entered the bar of the hotel on Stirling Road armed with a knife. He threatened staff, stole cash and left the scene on foot.

No one was physically injured during the robbery.

Investigations by local police led them to a nearby house, where a 23-year-old man from Port Augusta was arrested and cash was recovered.

He will face charges of aggravated robbery along with an active warrant, and will be refused bail to appear in the Port Augusta Magistrates Court tomorrow.
