A teenager will face court today charged over several alleged armed robberies in Sydney’s inner west earlier this year.

Detectives from the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad formed Strike Force Sunot to investigate four armed robberies allegedly committed in Balmain, Rozelle, Leichhardt and Burwood between 12.30am and 1.30am on Saturday 27 January 2018.

It will be alleged in court a boy travelled to each location in a Subaru Tribeca, which had been stolen from outside a home in Rydalmere on Friday 26 January 2018.

During one of the alleged robberies, a 22-year-old man was threatened at knife-point on Marmaduke Street, Burwood, before he was knocked to the ground and assaulted.

A phone, cash, a wallet and personal identification were allegedly stolen during these robberies.

The credit cards were then allegedly used at a fast food restaurant on Liverpool Road, Enfield, and a service station on Stacey Street, Bankstown.

Following inquiries, a 17-year-old boy was issued a court attendance notice for two counts of assault with intent to rob armed with an offensive weapon, aggravated robbery, robbery armed with offensive weapon, dishonestly obtain property by deception, and knowingly be carried in stolen conveyance.

The boy remains in custody and will appear before a children’s court today (Friday 26 October 2018).
