Around 5:35am, a man arrived at the store on Main Street in a maroon Ford Telstar. The armed man entered the store and began reaching for the cash register before being disturbed by a female staff member.

The man was handed the till and then stolen an amount of cash. He also demanded cigarettes which he placed into a bag together with the cash.

The man exited the store, and drove away in his car towards Railton after doing a U-turn.

The offender is described as being between 170cm and 180cm tall, slim build, wearing dark coloured clothing along with a balaclava and blue gloves.

“We would like to hear from anyone who can identify the offender or the car from the footage we have supplied. We’re also aware that a woman was jogging on Main Street just before the incident and a white dual cab ute drove past, travelling east, while the robbery was occurring. We would like these people to come forward as they may have some information that could be helpful,” said Detective Inspector Kim Steven.
