Police are appealing for public assistance to help with the identity of a man wanted for an armed robbery in the state’s north east.

About 8:20pm on Monday 1 October 2018, two males attended a hotel on Dampier Street Tamworth, armed with knives and demanded money from the employees.

The two offenders fled the premises via the hotel’s bottle shop and were last seen running on Aberdeen Street, Tamworth.

Officers from Oxley Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following inquiries, on Friday 11 January 2019, detectives from Tamworth attended a home in Inverell where a 21-year-old male was arrested and charged with armed robbery.

He was refused bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on the Monday 11 March 2019.

Investigators are seeking public assistance to identify the second male involved in the robbery and to help with any information in relation to the movements of the offenders on the day of the robbery.

He is described as having fair skin, a thin build, about 170 – 175cm tall and between 20 – 25 years old.

During the robbery he was wearing black pants, a white-t-shirt, a black cap and a distinctive purple bandana over his face.
