Police are appealing for public assistance following an armed robbery in the state’s south this morning.

Just before 4am today (Sunday 20 January 2019, a man entered a service station on Banna Avenue, Griffith, before threatening the attendant with a knife and demanding cash.

He took cash and cigarettes before running from the store in a northerly direction on Banna Avenue.

Officers from Murrumbidgee Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Police are appealing to locate a man described as being aged 20-25, 175cm-180cm tall, with a solid build, last seen wearing a black hooded jumper, black gloves, and a face covering.
