Police have arrested a man following a robbery at a hotel at Exeter earlier in the week.

Just before midnight on Sunday 3 March, a man armed with a knife and baseball bat threatened staff in the gaming room of the Exeter Hotel on Semaphore Road and stole cash.  He also stole cash and cards from a staff member’s purse before leaving through a rear door.

One of the staff members was hit with the bat during the robbery and was treated at the scene by paramedics.

Police searched the area with the assistance of Police Dog Iggy, who picked up a track from the hotel, but lost the scent in Young Street.

Just after 9am on Thursday 7 March, detectives from the Serious and Organised Crime Branch attended a house in Seaton and arrested a 20-year-old man from Prospect.  The man has been charged with aggravated robbery.  He was refused bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrate Court on Friday 8 March.
