A man has been charged with the armed robbery of a service station last night.

Just after 7pm, a man entered the petrol station on Logan River Road, allegedly armed with a knife and demanded cash from the cash register.

The attendant removed money and placed it on the counter when the man allegedly took the money and left the premises.

Officers with the assistance of the dog squad successfully located the man nearby in Edens Landing an hour later.

A 24-year-old Loganlea man has been charged with armed robbery and will appear in Beenleigh Magistrates Court today.
