Police are appealing for information after an attempted armed robbery at Taree last night.

Around 11pm (Monday 11 March 2019), a 46-year-old female employee was inside a business at Chatham, when two men entered the building.

The men demanded cash from the female employee; however, she refused and they fled empty-handed.

Officers from Manning Great Lakes Police District attended and patrolled the area, without success.

Both men are described as being between 180-185 centimetres tall. Both men were wearing long sleeved jumpers with hats or hoods and wearing gloves.

The men were last seen running towards Milligan Street, Chatham.

Police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
