Police are appealing for public assistance after an armed robbery at Lidcombe this morning.

Just after 4am (Sunday 24 March 2019), police were called to a service station on Joseph Street, near Vaughan Street, after reports of an armed robbery.

Police have been told three males, armed with a knife, threatened the attendant before stealing cigarettes and fleeing on foot.

The attendant was not injured during the incident.

Officers from Auburn Police Area Command attended and established a crime scene.

A search of the surrounding area was conducted with assistance from the Dog Unit, however, no one was located.

Detectives would like to speak to three males who may be able to assist with their inquiries.

They are all described as being of African appearance and aged in their late teens or early 20s.
