Police have made two arrests following an armed robbery at the Gepps Cross Hotel yesterday morning.

At about 10pm last night, excellent local police knowledge by a Hindley Street patrol led to the arrest a 34-year-old man from Daw Park, after he was spoken to in Hindley Street in company with a teenage girl.

Further enquiries and a search of the man’s backpack found a quantity of drugs and cash allegedly stolen from the hotel safe.

Operation Counteract Detectives were notified and the arrested man was charged with aggravated robbery and unlawful detention.

The arrested man was refused police bail and will appear in the Adelaide Magistrates Court later today.

This morning Operation Counteract Detectives arrested a 49-year-old woman, who police will allege was the duty manager of the Gepps Cross Hotel at the time of the robbery. She was charged with Aggravated Robbery and bailed to appear in the Holden Hill Magistrates Court at a later date.
