Police are seeking witnesses to an incident in which a man attempted to take a woman’s
handbag and also indecently assaulted her as she walked along a street in Maylands.
At around 7.35pm on Monday evening (31 October), the 26 year old woman as walking along
First Avenue when the man attempted to take the woman’s bag from her.
She screamed, before the man placed a hand over her mouth and indecently touched her.
The woman managed to fight off the man, who then ran off east along First Avenue.
The man is described as being 25-35 years old, 180cm tall and of a medium build.
