Police are appealing for witnesses following the armed robbery of a convenience store at Bexley last night.

Shortly before 10pm (Friday 20 April), a man entered the store on Forest Road armed with a screwdriver.

He threatened the male and female employees and demanded money.

After taking money and cigarettes he left the premises.

No-one was injured during the incident.

Police from St George Local Area Command attended and established a crime scene, which was examined by officers from the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit.

The man has been described as Mediterranean/ Middle Eastern appearance, 20 to 25 years old, 178cm tall with a slim build. He was wearing a white hooded jumper, grey tracksuit pants and black sunglasses.
