Police have arrested a male youth over the attempted robbery of a grocery store at Glynde yesterday.  At about 4.45pm yesterday, a male armed with a knife entered the grocery store on Payneham Road and demanded money, but fled empty-handed when another staff member came into the shop.

 At about 11.50am today, a police patrol was conducting an unrelated traffic stop on Payneham Road, Glynde, when they noticed a teenager walking past who matched the description of the suspect for yesterday’s robbery.

The patrol stopped and spoke to the teen and, after further inquiries, arrested him.

The 15-year-old male youth from Felixstow is currently being interviewed by police and is expected to be charged with attempted aggravated robbery
