Police are currently investigating an armed robbery that occurred in Greenbank overnight.

Just after 11pm two staff members of a sport and recreation club on Middle Road were walking to their cars after closing up the premises when the female staff member was approached by a man armed with a metal bar.

The male staff member was approached by two men armed with knives.

The three men forced the staff members back inside the premises.

As the male staff member attempted to unlock the office area one of the men threatened him with a knife.

The men entered the office and bar area and stole a sum of cash before the men fled the scene on foot.

Police are presently compiling a description of the offenders.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Police investigations are continuing.
