Detectives investigating the armed robbery of a jewellery store in south-western Sydney earlier this year are renewing their appeal for public assistance.
Just before 2.30pm on Tuesday 27 March 2012, three men entered a shopping centre on Woodward Crescent, Miller, with their faces concealed and armed with sledgehammers.
All three ran to a jewellery store located within the shopping centre and threatened the male store owner and a male customer with the weapons.
The men then smashed the glass display cabinets and removed trays of jewellery.
The 49-year-old customer managed to crawl out of the store while the 31-year-old owner ran into a back office and activated a security alarm to alert police.
The armed men fled the store and left the location in a red Subaru Impreza which was parked nearby and being driven by a fourth man.
Officers attached to Green Valley Local Area Command and the Metropolitan Robbery Unit (MRU) attended and began an investigation into the incident.
Strike Force Anga was subsequently established by the MRU to investigate this incident as well as a spate of other armed robberies within the Green Valley, Cabramatta and Liverpool Local Area Commands.
As part of ongoing investigations, strike force detectives have released an image of three men they believe may be able to assist with inquiries. They have also release a security still of the getaway car.
All three men are described as being of Middle Eastern / Mediterranean appearance.
