Police have charged a man following the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Wacol last night.
It will be alleged around 10pm, a man entered the service station on Boundary Road and told the store attendant to open the safe.
The man held his hand over his pants pocket during the alleged incident, intimating he had a weapon.
The man left the store on foot after the store attendant activated a silent alarm and asked the man to leave.
The dog squad attended and located a man allegedly armed with a knife nearby.
A 27-year-old Aspley man was charged with attempted armed robbery, and is expected to appear before the Richlands Magistrates Court today.
