Police are investigating the attempted armed robbery of a service station at Wishart early this morning.

Around 12.10am, a man armed with an iron bar entered the Mount Gravatt-Capalaba Road business and threatened a store attendant.

The man made demands for the money, but the store attendant did not comply.

The man ran from the scene empty handed.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The man is described as being in his forties and approximately 180cm tall. At the time of the offence, he was wearing dark clothing, a cowboy hat and a rubber mask.

Police investigations are continuing.
