Police are investigating the armed robbery of a petrol station at Boambee near Coffs Harbour this morning.
About 2:30am, Wednesday 16 May 2012, three males with their faces covered entered the petrol station on the Pacific Highway.
Two of the males, who were armed with firearms, threatened the console operator demanding he hand over cash.
The trio were given a sum of cash and then fled the petrol station on foot.
The staff member, who was not injured during the robbery, alerted police who attended the petrol station a short time later.
A crime scene was established at the premises and subsequently examined by specialist forensic officers.
Detectives from Coffs Harbour are investigating the armed robbery and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.
