A 41-year-old Edens Landing woman is due to appear in the Ipswich Magistrates Court this morning charged with nine offences following investigations into several recent robbery and stealing offences across the South East.

The charges include armed robbery (Waterford West), armed robbery in company (Post Office Square) and attempted armed robbery and commit acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm / transmit serious disease (Roma Street, Brisbane).

It will be alleged that a woman armed with a syringe robbed a woman at an automatic teller machine at a Waterford West shopping centre on Kingston Road on Saturday May 19.

It will also be alleged that on May 17 a woman was attempting to get into her car at a Roma Street car park when a woman armed with a syringe attempted to rob her. A struggled ensued during which time the victim sustained a needle stick injury to her hand before the other woman fled on foot.

A woman using an elevator at Post Office Square in Brisbane City on May 14 was allegedly robbed by a woman armed with a syringe. A second woman was present at the time.

The woman was also charged with three counts of stealing relating to offences allegedly committed in Brisbane City, Loganholme and Kingston and most occurring during the month of May.

During all of the alleged offences handbags, purses, cash, credit cards and personal identification were stolen.

The 41-year-old woman also faces two additional charges, one of possession of a drug utensil and the other of receiving tainted property.

Police continue to investigate the armed robbery of a woman who was washing her hands at a basin situated inside a toilet complex at a Redbank cinema on May 19 when her purse was allegedly stolen by a woman claiming to have a syringe.
