Police have released CCTV footage in attempt to identify a man believed be involved in a series of armed robberies in the Ipswich District in the past month.

As part of Operation Austerity, Ipswich detectives are investigating the armed robbery of four service stations, the first of which occurred on April 7, 2012.

Just before 9pm a man entered the service station on Woodcrest Way, Springfield, walked to the front counter where he produce a handgun and demand money.

It is believed the same man is linked to the armed robberies of service stations on Robertson Road in Eastern Heights on April 8, 2012, Woodcrest Way in Springfield on May 8, 2012 and the Cunningham Highway at Willowbank on May 10, 2012.

No one has been physically injured as a result of the robberies.

Police are searching for a man described as being Caucasian in appearance and aged in his 20’s.

In two of the robberies, he was wearing a distinctive rainbow coloured beanie (pictured).
