Police are investigating the armed robbery of a bottle shop in Kallangur this evening.
Initial investigations indicate that a man entered the shop on Anzac Avenue at around 6pm and asked for assistance from the employee.
The shop attendant went to get goods for the man, but upon his return to the counter the man indicated he was armed with a concealed firearm, and demanded cash.
The shop attendant complied and the man fled the store with a sum of cash.
He was last seen running across the car park.
No one was injured during the incident.
He is described as Caucasian, between 30-40 years of age, around 178cm tall and of a heavy build, with a full beard.
He was wearing maroon football shorts with yellow trim, a black hooded jumper, a beige cap and black thongs.
Investigations are continuing.
