Detectives in Sydney’s west are appealing for witnesses to an armed hold-up at a Northmead bowling club overnight.

Just before 9pm (Sunday 27 May 2012), two female employees were confronted by a man wearing a balaclava in the staffroom of the Windsor Road club.

The man, who was brandishing a pistol, demanded access to the safe.

He stole a significant sum of cash before fleeing on foot.

Police from Parramatta Local Area Command and the Forensic Armed Robbery Unit attended the scene and commenced inquiries.

They’re now seeking public help to identify and locate the offender, who’s been described as being aged in his 30s, of Caucasian appearance with a medium build.

He was last seen wearing a black jacket, black pants and a black and white balaclava.
