31 May 2012 – Armed Robbery – Tavern – Stepney

Eastern Adelaide Police and Operation Counteract Detectives are investigating and also seeking witnesses to an armed hold-up at the Avenues Tavern at Stepney last night.

At about 10.20pm, a man wearing a balaclava and armed with a sword, threatened the gaming staff of the tavern on Nelson Road then fled with cash.

From witnesses reports he left the area in white Holden possibly a Statesmen.  There were no injuries.  Police investigators today will be looking at CCTV from the Tavern.

The suspect is described as about 175cms, slim build, wearing dark clothing and shoes.
