7 June 2012 – Update – Arrest – Armed Robbery – Supermarket – Cannington

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a man in relation to an armed robbery on a supermarket in Cannington on Sunday 4 March 2012.

About 8:00pm on the Sunday a man entered the store on Cecil Avenue armed with a handgun and demanded money from a staff member. The staff member complied and the man left with an amount of money.

Yesterday detectives executed a search warrant on a residence in Hawkstone Street, Cottesloe and arrested a man in relation to the incident. A number of items of interest were seized at the residence, including a replica firearm.

A 34 year old man from Cottesloe has been charged with Armed Robbery and will appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today, Thursday 7 June 2012.
