At 4.50pm on Wednesday the 20 June 2012, a male person armed with a knife has entered the Chemart Pharmacy located at 127 Newtown Road, Newtown. The male person has then threatened a member of staff at the pharmacy before making off with an amount of prescription medication. The male was last seen on foot at the intersection of Pedder and Roope Street, Newtown.
The male offender is described as being approximately 185cm tall, of slim build, wearing a grey hooded jumper and black track pants and carrying a small black back pack. The male was also possibly wearing a scarf.
Medical advice obtained in relation to the medication stolen states that as with any non prescribed medication, inappropriately taken, can cause serious health problems and possibly death.
Pharmacy staff were shaken by the incident but otherwise physically unharmed.
