25 July 2012 – Update – Charges Laid – Armed Robbery – Jewellery Store – Spearwood

Regional Investigations Unit detectives have charged a 22 year old man in relation to an armed robbery at a jewellery store in Spearwood on Wednesday 18 July 2012.

At about 12:15pm a man entered the store located at the Phoenix Shopping Centre with a gun and tyre lever. It will be alleged he threatened staff as he pointed the gun in their

direction, smashed a glass display with the tyre lever and stole a quantity of jewellery. As the man fled from the store it will be further alleged he brandished the gun at passers-by.

Detectives arrested the 22 year old Brentwood man yesterday at his home address and he has since been charged with Armed Robbery and Being Armed In a Way That May Cause

Fear. The accused has been held in police custody to appear in the Fremantle Magistrates Court today, Wednesday 25 July 2012.
