Geelong Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for public assistance to help identify a man who attempted to hold up a service station in Grovedale.
The man attended the Torquay Road service station about 12:45am on Friday 23 November.
After discovering the doors to the service station were locked, the male produced a knife and motioned to the cash register.
After the offender was refused entry he went to the window and motioned the knife again.
The offender was refused entry for a second time and was last seen heading north on the Torquay Road.
The male is described as approximately 175cm in height with a slim build.
He was wearing a black balaclava with eyes and a mouth hole, a grey hooded jumper and black pants.
Detectives have released CCTV images of the man they believe can assist with their enquiries.
