A teenager will front court today charged over the armed robbery of a caravan park in the state’s north.
About 11.15am yesterday (Thursday 20 December 2012), a 16-year-old boy entered the reception office of a caravan park on the Bruxner Highway, South Lismore.
The teenager allegedly threatened a female staff member with a knife and demanded cash.
He then fled on foot with an amount of money from the office and was followed by another male member of staff.
The youth allegedly threatened this staff member with a knife, before dropping the proceeds and running away.
He was stopped nearby by police from Richmond Local Area Command, who allegedly found a knife and cash in his possession.
The teenager was taken to Lismore Police Station where he was charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and common assault.
He was refused bail and will appear before Lismore Children’s Court today (Friday 21 December 2012).
