Police are searching for two men after the attempted armed robbery of a hotel bottle shop this afternoon.
Around 3.30pm two men drove into the Cotlew Street drive-through store before the passenger got out of the vehicle and approached a male employee.
The man threatened him with a knife and demanded he hand over cash.
The staff member refused his demands and the men fled the scene empty-handed in a silver Honda Accord.
The man is described as having a slim build and was wearing a dark hooded-jumper, dark tracksuit pants and a white hockey mask.
No one was injured during the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
