Police have charged two 16-year-old girls with a number of offences following the armed robbery of a service station in Kenmore last night.

It is alleged that around 8.30pm, two females entered the Moggill Road store and threatened an employee with a knife before fleeing with a sum of cash and cigarettes.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

Both 16-year-old girls have been charged with two counts each of unlawful use of motor vehicle and attempted armed robbery, and one count each of armed robbery.

They will be dealt with under the provisions of the Youth Justice Act.
