Police are appealing for information following an armed robbery in Sydney’s inner-west overnight.
About 8.40pm yesterday (Sunday 20 January 2013), two unknown men, one armed with a knife, entered a food outlet on Liverpool Road, Ashfield.
One of the men allegedly assaulted a 23-year-old employee by hitting him in the shoulder, before demanding proceeds from the register.
Both men then fled on foot with an amount cash.
No customers were in the store at the time of the incident.
Ashfield Police attended and established a crime scene which was examined by specialist officers.
Investigators are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or know the identity of the men involved to contact them.
The first man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a black jacket, black and white shorts and white shoes.
The second man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, wearing a black jacket, blue jeans and black shoes.
