Police are searching for a man following the armed robbery of a Beenleigh service station early this morning.

Around 12.10am, a man armed with a knife entered the City Road store and threatened an employee while making demands for cash and cigarettes.

The employee complied and handed over a sum of cigarettes and cash from the till.

The offender fled the store on foot.

No one was physically injured during the incident.

The offender had his face covered at the time of the offence.
