Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at South Mackay this afternoon.
Around 5.15pm, a man has walked into the Napier Street business and produced a knife.
He made demands for money and the attendant has complied.
The man has fled the scene with a quantity of cash.
No one was physically injured as a result of the robbery.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, in his thirties, approximately 180cm tall with an obese build.
At the time of the offence, he was wearing a blue t-shirt, light blue and white board shorts, thongs, black sunglasses and a straw hat.
Police investigations are continuing.
