A 13-year-old boy will face court following an armed robbery on the State’s Central Coast.

About 11.25am yesterday (Sunday 10 February 2013), a male youth entered a newsagency on Anita Avenue, Lake Munmorah, and allegedly threatened the female employee.

The male, who had his faced covered and was allegedly armed with a knife, fled the store after he was handed cash and cigarettes.

About 2.30pm, the 13-year-old attended Toukley Police Station with his grandparents and was arrested by police.

Officers attended the boy’s home address with the family and recovered an amount of cigarettes and cash.

He was later charged with robbery whilst armed with an offensive weapon and granted conditional bail to appear in Wyong Children’s Court on Tuesday 26 February 2013.
