Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store at Southport this evening.
Around 7.30pm a man entered the Scarborough Street shop before threatening an employee with a knife and demanding cash.
The staff member complied with his demands and the man obtained a sum of cash before fleeing the scene on foot.
No one was physically injured during the incident.
The man is described as being Caucasian in appearance, aged in his mid 20s, approximately 175cm tall with dark short hair.
