Police are investigating whether the robbery of a fast food restaurant in Smithfield is related to an earlier robbery at Liverpool.

About 3am (Thursday 28 February 2013), a man in a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan pulled into the drive-through of the restaurant on Smithfield Road, Smithfield, and threatened the attendant with a firearm.

The man was given an amount of cash and he drove from the scene. The vehicle was last seen travelling west on Victoria Street.

The man was wearing a black hooded jumper, black sunglasses and he had a white bandana covering his face.

The vehicle has been described as an older model Mitsubishi Lancer, light blue in colour, with black roof racks.

Police are investigating links between this robbery and an earlier armed robbery in Liverpool.
