Police are investigating the armed robbery of a petrol station at Bulahdelah this morning.

About 1:20am, Thursday 7 March 2013, a beige Daewoo pulled into the petrol station on the Pacific Highway, near Blanch Street.

A man exited the vehicle and waited for a customer to leave before entering the petrol station.

A woman was working behind the counter when the man, armed with a knife, jumped onto the counter and took cash from the register.

He fled the store and left the scene in the stolen Daewoo which was later located burnt out in Anna Bay near Port Stephens. No one was injured in the robbery.

Detectives from Manning/Great Lakes Local Area Command are investigating the robbery and are looking for a man described as being of Caucasian appearance, unshaven and wearing a long-sleeve blue top over a black hooded top.

A crime scene has been established at the petrol station and will be examined by specialist forensic officers later in the morning. Investigations into the robbery are continuing.
