A second person has been charged over several break-ins and armed robberies at Warrawong in the Illawarra region last month.
Around 11:50pm, Saturday 9 February 2013, two males who were armed with a machete robbed a pizza delivery driver in Dean Street.
They allegedly stole an amount of money and the pizzas before fleeing the scene.
About 6:30am, Sunday 10 February 2013, an 88-year-old man and his 79-year-old wife were asleep in their home on Jane Avenue, Warrawong, when they heard noises in the kitchen.
They were allegedly confronted by two males who demanded money before punching the elderly man in the face.
The pair rummaged through drawers before taking a small amount of cash and fleeing the premises.
In another incident, about 11pm on Saturday 16 February 2013, a man was delivering pizzas in Denise Avenue, Lake Heights, when he was allegedly approached by two males armed with a machete.
He was robbed of a small amount of cash and his mobile phone.
Detectives from Lake Illawarra Local Area Command formed Strike Force Lynista to investigate the incidents and yesterday arrested an 18-year-old man in Warrawong.
He was taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station and charged with aggravated break, enter and commit serious indictable offence, and two counts of robbery in company; he was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court today (Thursday 7 March 2013).
Earlier in the week (Tuesday 5 March 2013) a 13-year-old boy was arrested and charged over his alleged involvement in the incidents. His matters are currently before the courts.
