A man has been charged after the attempted armed robbery of a service station in Caloundra last night.

Around 10.45pm a man entered the Bowman Road store and threatened the store attendant with a knife.

The store attendant refused and produced a baseball bat, and the man fled the scene.

Police located the man after reviewing CCTV footage.

A 21-year-old Battery Hill man has been charged with attempted robbery, and is due to appear in the Caloundra Magistrates Court on March 14.
