A man will face court this afternoon charged over his alleged involvement in a string of armed robberies in Sydney’s south west.

Strike Force Wither was established by the Metropolitan Robbery Unit earlier this month to investigate armed hold-ups at fast food restaurants in south west Sydney in recent weeks.

Just before midnight (Wednesday 13 March 2013), police were called to a restaurant on the Hume Highway, Liverpool, following reports of another robbery where a firearm was produced.

A short time later, officers attached to Liverpool Local Area Command attended an address on Fitzpatrick Crescent, Casula, where they arrested a 26-year-old man.

He was taken to Liverpool Police Station and interviewed by detectives.

A search warrant was also executed at his residence, where police seized items which will undergo forensic testing.

He has since been charged with three counts of robbery armed with a dangerous weapon.

He’s been refused bail to appear at Campbelltown Local Court this afternoon (Thursday 14 March 2013).
