Detectives from Operation Counteract are investigating an aggravated robbery that occurred at the Golden Grove Tavern, Surrey Downs, this morning.

At about 8.40am a man armed with a gun entered the gaming room of the Golden Grove Tavern on Golden Grove Road.

He threatened staff and demanded money, and fled with an amount of cash in a white Mitsubishi station wagon, with SA registration WKV135. He was last seen heading towards Tea Tree Plaza on Golden Grove Road.

The vehicle was later found in Braeburn Drive, Golden Grove.

The suspect is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, medium build, wearing a white business shirt, tie and had a bandana tied across his face.

There were no customers present at the time of the robbery and no one was injured during the incident.
