Police are investigating several attempted break-ins and ram raids on business premises overnight that occurred across the metropolitan area.  Police believe the incidents formed two separate crime series, with one crime series occurring in the north of the city, and one in the southern suburbs.

A white Subaru Impreza, registration S102ASE was stolen from West Lakes overnight and at midnight was involved in a petrol drive-off from a Seaton service station.

Police have released a CCTV image of a suspect at the service station.

Just after 4am, two people wearing skeleton masks were seen using a brick to try to smash the front door of a sports store on the Parade at Norwood.  They were unsuccessful and left in the stolen white Subaru Impreza.

This vehicle was then used in a ram raid at a clothing store on Main Street at Mawson Lakes.  The thieves ran into the store, grabbed bundles of clothing and took off in a second car, possibly a silver Toyota, leaving the white Subaru in the window.  The getaway car from this incident has not been identified or located.

Meanwhile, in the southern suburbs, at about 3.30am, a red car rammed the roller door of the CFS building at Happy Valley.  No entry was gained and nothing was stolen.

At about 5am a red car was used in an attempt to gain entry to an electrical store on Sherriffs Road, Lonsdale, however, the thieves were prevented from getting in and nothing was stolen.

The same red vehicle is believed to have been used by two males wearing balaclavas who jemmied the front door of a business on O’Sullivan Beach Road at Lonsdale at about 5.40am.  The males got into the warehouse, however, nothing was stolen.

Police are still searching for a red or maroon car, possibly a Skyline, with front or rear end damage, believed to have been used in the incidents at Happy Valley and Lonsdale.
